Memorial Weekend Work Party 2009

On Saturday May 22 2009 we donated the Buick to a Texas for Kids Charity. It was a sad day for us but an inevitable day that had to come. We payed proper homage then went on with our day.....:-)

Goodbye old friend

Now the mowing of 5 acres commences......

While Bob worked diligently to mow 5 acres of knee high grass/weeds/wildflowers.....

...I took pictures of the wildflowers and my favorite tree on our property. Until he decided it was my turn on the mower and he would weed whack around the fence line and trees...5 hours later we left with only the front portion of our property mowed....woo ya It was such a beautiful cloudy day we didn't even realize the time had passed. Texas property owners love their land! So what does that make me.....just kidding .

Saturday evening: Amber has been camping with some Southwest co-workers at Camp Constantin and comes to our place for the remainder of the weekend! Yay (By the way we are not on the property we are at Bay Landing Thousand Trails in Bridgeport) We ate at the ClubHouse here at Bay Landing they have a new kitchen staff and it was BBQ Brisket night. What an improvement from the last kitchen staff, these people are clean, friendly and deliver the food to your table. The last staff wore dirty aprons, shorts, flip flops, no nets for the long-haired cook, suffice it to say we never ate there. It is all different now, WooHoo Happy Days!

Bob decided after that really good meal we should have Brownies so that is what he is doing here.

Sunday we went to church in Decatur then went to 'Sweetie Pie' restaurant our new after church tradition. Went back to the trailer then headed for Denton to watch 'Star Trek'. What a fun movie!

Amber playing World of Warcraft..Go Amber

Monday we put Amber to work, her first time on the mower and boy what a cut-up....hahahaha I am too funny...lol

After mowing we came back to the trailer cleaned up, Bob grilled steaks and Amber headed for home did laundry and went to bed. Thank you Amber for another exhausting weekend!

That is our Memorial weekend hope you all had a great time remembering to have a great time....hahahaha
