October November 2008 happenings

First off after the Cape Cod trip we head to Kansas to spend 3 weeks.
Halloween was during this time and so we had some great times with Avery and her parents.

Amber flew into Kansas right after her Halloween party at work. The theme for the party was the 70's and Nana made this costume!

Trying to get a picture of Avery in a pumpkin. What a fun time that was for the adults. We gave it three tries at different times of the day and each time Avery was nonchalant about the whole ordeal.

The adults were funnier than the precious one in the pumpkin. Check out Tonya/Kevin's blog for the final results.

Beautiful fall trees in Lawrence, Ks.

A sad note during this time. On October 31, Lori (we went to Cape Cod with the family) was diagnosed with Cancer/Sarcoma in the leg. We are completely devastated by this news and solicit your prayers for her full recovery. Update: She has had 2 surgeries since this time and will undergo radiation/Chemo in the new year.

The night before leaving Kansas to head for Texas we had the opportunity to babysit Avery. We had a great time!

Bob flew with me to Tucson so I could spend some time with Lori after her first surgery. We met his parents, sister and brother in law and my parents for Sunday lunch before he flew back to Texas.

While staying in Tucson I stayed with my parents here is Papa remodeling mom's sewing room.

Papa made some scrambled egg faces for our breakfast one morning.

Bob sent some flowers to me for our anniversary . It was the first time we were apart on our anniversary.

Bob drove Amber Sandra and Abby (Sandra's ACU roomate) to Tucson for Thanksgiving. Sandra and Amber were able to spend a few hours with Sam and Courtney.

We had Thanksgiving at Julie and Carl's place. Papa Amber Abby and Sandra rode the quads before eating a lucious dinner.

Okay so the next part of Thanksgiving is a trip to California. Bob bought me Celine Dion concert tickets for 2007 Christmas and it happened to be Nov. 29, 2008 in Anaheim, CA. Of course, Sandra jumped at the chance to drive all the way to Tucson them Anaheim just for the opportunity to enjoy Disneyland before heading to Florida to work at Disney World.

The concert was so great, we found out that this was her first concert after being sick for a month. We didn't take any pictures but trust me when I say I would go again in a heartbeat even Bob was impressed.

While in Anaheim the girls bought Bob and I a gift certificate for a fancy dinner on our anniversary so we went to this Bistro. It was so nice and the food was great. Thank you Amber, Sandra,Tonya, Kevin and Avery

On the trip back to Texas we stopped to pick up Amber (who did not go to California with us) and had a great meal at Nana and Papa's. Thank you!

Thanks to Wanda and Harry for keeping Bob and I during Thanksgiving. Thank you Etta Rico for keeping me the week prior to Thanksgiving and for the girls stay during Thanksgiving. Carl/Julie THANK YOU for a wonderful, memorable Thanksgiving Day!
