August in Kansas

We have arrived in Kansas to welcome the birth of another Dodd baby girl! We are so very excited to spend time with our 'kids' we can hardly stand it! So far it has been exceptional as usual Tonya, Avery and Patty spend the mornings doing our errands (meaning going to lunch, shopping, etc) then we have our Sunday and Thursday dinners together. An established routine that will surely be tweeked when 'baby sister' arrives on August 30, 2010.

Here we are at the former Lawrence KOA now Jellystone RV park having a picnic while the beautiful outdoor tempatures last!

Avery has taken control of the camera in the next few shots....

Here she reviews her 'silly' video on Bob-bob's phone.

Monday nights are $1 cone nights at Ben and Jerry's. While Tonya was off at a Book reading club get together, Kevin sent the grandparents off with Avery to enjoy a cone. Enjoy we did!

Then we rode the carousel horse.

Back at home she gets out her playdough.

Friday Pizza night, the whole family gets involved.

For Kevin's birthday he ordered a homemade apple pie so Tonya searched out the best crust recipe and because Amber is not here to help prepare the crust and Patty's favorite pie crust is Pillsbury in the box, Tonya is alone in her endeavors.
Here is the absolutely perfect flaky and sensational apple pie!!! Happy Birthday, Kevin! Kevin had grilled some wildly perfect potatoes and steaks for his birthday meal! I was too busy eating said meal to take pictures....oops

Sunday we headed to Topeka, went to church with Doris (Kevin's grandmother) then went to lunch at Golden Corral with the rest of his Topeka family!
Then we headed for a mall to walk off all that food. Avery found the mall playground and so while Tonya and Kevin went shopping Bob-bob and I stayed and played with Avery! Fun!

Here is a parting shot of this beautiful grandaughter of ours!!!!
