Let’s catch up shall we……

July 2006

Bob and I sold our Tucson home of 20+ years and headed off in our Laredo 5th wheel home.

Headed for Branson Missouri where we met up with the Johnson’s for a great vacation ending up in Lawrence, Kansas to visit with Tonya and Kevin.

August – September 2006

We headed for Arlington,Texas where we met up with Papa and Nana. Stayed at Treetops RV park to help Amber move into an apartment. She stayed with us in the Laredo looking for jobs.

Hoping to stay with the boy scouts, (Amber had worked 2 summers with the boy scout camp) she was extremely disappointed when the job was given to her and then taken away because of some major upheaval in the branch she was hired in.

She rallied and hit the job hunting trail. Ended up landing a sweet job with Southwest Airlines

We all helped move her into Austin Ranch apartments in the city of 'The Colony", Texas

Papa and Nana stayed for about a month because their Avalanche was in and out of the dealers with an unknown problem. One of these repair trips they borrowed our 2004, f350 to look for a new truck, this is how frustrated they were, and ended up getting into an accident with no human injuries but the truck and the other vehicle sustained some damage. The Avalanche was eventually taken to a mechanic in Abilene and diagnosed with a computer problem. Within a week it was fixed and papa’s faith in dealerships was badly shaken.

September October 2006

Heading for Tucson to repair the truck and make a decision as to whether we need to upgrade to a ‘full-timer’ fifth wheel. We take our damaged white f350 into Holmes Tuttle to get repaired and while there we talk to a salesman (bad idea) and within 2 days walk away with a diesel 2007 f350. So of course this makes our fifth wheel upgrade decision easier. We head to Phoenix and drive away with our 5 slide, 36' Carriage ‘full-timer’ fifth wheel home!

First thing is to head for California to stay at our newly acquired Thousand Trails camping membership park: Wilderness Lakes. Papa and Nana have been Thousand Trails members for years the grandkids, Bob, Julie, and myself have been traveling the USA enjoying these beautiful campgrounds with them. During this California trip we attend a musical at Pepperdine that Race stars in. Papa and Nana joined us for Race' production and stayed a few days. Even get a chance to visit Disneyland. Can you believe we had to buy tickets we had no annual pass!

November December 06

Off to Lawrence to enjoy Thanksgiving with Kevin and Tonya,Amber,Sandra, Papa and Nana.

Kevin and Tonya did this ‘Amazing Race’ game we had 2 teams and had a list of items to photograph for documentation within a certain time frame. What a great way to see Lawrence!

For our anniversary the girls bought us a gift card to a very fancy Kansas City steak house. Here are a few pictures of that evening:

Before Bob and I left Lawrence there was a snow and ice storm and here are some ‘window’ pictures from our RV home.

The roses are from Bob for our anniversary he is so thoughtful!

So we head for Abilene to catch a concert at ACU that Sandra is participating in, Marnie Lemmons from Palo Verde sang in this concert.

We celebrate Sandra’s 21st in Thousand Trails Lake Texoma, also Bob’s 50th bday

First trip to Corsicana, Texas Papa, Nana, Harry and Wanda rave about this place so we took a day trip from Whitney to check it out:

Now we head to Dallas for Xmas at Amber’s apartment. She has recently purchased a RAV4 and here we all are parked together:

Xmas at Amber’s

Then we head to Colleyville to spend some time with McDowells, Mike Debbie and Family:

So that takes care of 2006 coming soon…..2007

Looks Good! Once Kyal leaves, we will be looking to get a 5th wheel again as well. Maybe we will see you on the road! We're at Disneyworld...sure wish we could be with the Larsons!
